Thanksgiving Eats 2012

THANKSGIVING!

Thanksgiving is the best, yo.

Food, family, friends, football (meh), and everyone sitting around a table, talking and laughing about what they are thankful for.

So fun.

I am SUPER excited about Thanksgiving 2012 because for the first time in my 25 years, I am hosting Thanksgiving!

Another exciting announcement is that my mom is getting MARRIED the day after Thanksgiving (!!!), which is so exciting, but also means that I will be cooking for our immediate family as well as a few of our wedding guests.

Definitely having mixed emotions of anxiousness and excitement about that one. I have a feeling that my OCDness is going to come out in full force.

I'm apologizing in advance.

So, it goes without saying that I have already started planning the menu and thought I would share it.

I am gratefully accepting any comments and suggestions from you, too!

Let's start with dessert first because...that's just the way life should go.

Classic...with vanilla bean ice cream, of course.

I am thinking about jazzing up my traditional pumpkin pie with this delicious maple-y walnut topping.

Yum.

My sister is making these Pecan Pie Brownies. I am pretty pumped about these guys.

I mean, you just can't go wrong here.

I am also making a small batch of my Fleur De Sel Chocolate Chip Butterscotch Cookies, just so there is something sweet for everyone.

Ok, on to the savory!

So easy, and always delicious.

Another classic.

I really like the idea of doing half with marshmallows and the other half without.

I am personally a sans marshmallow sweet potato cass lover, but most of my family prefers the marshmallows.

A family divided.

This will be a new addition to our Thanksgiving menu. It just looked too good to pass up!

Always a crown pleaser. Using fresh green beans is the key!

Last but not least, big, warm, fluffy dinner rolls! Mmmmmm.

Along with those yummy pecan pie brownies, my sister is on turkey duty as well.

I (very enthusiastically) passed the baton on that one. No.

The holiday season is almost here and I am PUMPED!

What are YOU making for Thanksgiving???
