I LOVE music.
I don't think I have mentioned this before on here. But oh my how I love it.
I never ever ever get tired of listening to new bands, great songs, and creative remixes.
I also really love concerts and have been wanting to attend ACL for years now. Thankfully, my cousin goes every year and had an extra ticket this year that she let me purchase a few months ago.
Let me tell you...those were the longest months of my life. I was SO excited.
I can confidentally say that Austin City Limits 2012 did not dissappoint.
Even if you HATED music, just the people watching could keep you entertained.
BASSNECTAR (above) was insane. Just a giant dance party.
Kimbra was my FAVORITE, but I knew she would be :)
Cuteness overload, and talk about talent. Seriously, this woman killed it.
Another favorite was Gardens & Villa!
These guys rocked my body, literally. I could feel the bass in my chest.
It.was.awesome.
Freelance Whales!
I actually became familiar with them through this lady's amazing blog, so it was SO fun seeing them live.
Amazing.
Kishi Bashi! These guys were the coolest.
My rockstar cousin and me. She really is the coolest person you will ever know. Fo reals.
Ok, let's talk about what we ate and drank.
First of all, water at ACL came in a....milk box.
My mouth was so confused.
I wanted water, but when I started to drink it, I really really really wanted it to be ice cold milk!
I have mixed feelings about this packaging. I'm dealing.
Grabbed an iced vanilla latte from The Coffee Bean before heading out for ACL day 2!
Sugar + Caffeine = one very fun Emily.
We also grabbed a breakfast sandwich from Einstein Bros the same morning.
These were really delicious, until I noticed on the menu that the description for this sandwich was "whole wheat bagel thin, turkey sausage, cheddar cheese, and egg mixture".
Ummm, I'm sorry...egg MIXTURE? Gross.
Ignorance is bliss on this one.
There was this amazing little farmers market at ACL where I desperately wanted to eat, but all of the food vendors only accepted cash, and I'm a card girl, so no delicious eats for me this time.
After ACL day 2, the cuz and I were WIPED OUT, but needed food and drink...and Trudy's was calling our name.
I make a point to eat here every time I am in Austin, so I was happy to continue the tradition on this trip.
We started with their insane chips and queso. Yum.
I ordered the Green Chile Chicken Tacos with rice and re-fried black beans.
These tacos...oh these tacos.
Marinated fajita chicken, green chiles, sour cream, queso, shredded cheese, lettuce, tomato, and avocado, all stuffed into warm, homemade flour tortillas.
The epitome of satisfying.
Washed down with a perfect (and strong!) frozen margarita.
Seriously, I just ate dinner and my mouth is watering as I type this.
Breakfast on our last day was at Magnolia Cafe. This was actually my first time eating here and I am SO glad we did!
I forgot to take a picture of my food, but it was amazing, and so cheap! Huge omelets, breakfast tacos, pancakes, etc.
I will definitely keep this place on my Austin Eats rotation!
Two happy girls at the end of an amazing (life-changing...dare I say?) weekend at ACL.
I am already excited about ACL 2013. You should come too.
Have fun! Live your life! Dance! Sing! Jump! Hug! LOVE!
