Happy Mother's Day!!!
The Mr. and I celebrated his mom yesterday with good food, family fun, and one pretty delicious cake :)
I started the day with an 8:00 AM BodyPump class and got in about 35 minutes of cardio afterwards.
I have always been unable to lift anything over 45 pounds for the 'Pump squat track. It's not that my legs can't take it, I just can't get the bar over my head! But this morning I was finally able to successfully complete the squat track with 50 pounds! Yeehaww!
My legs were certainly feeling that extra 5 pounds, but yay for baby steps!
Breakfast came in the form of yogurt toast with apple slices and coffee. Love.
After breakfast, I showered, made a cake, and then it was time to head to Brent's parents house for Mother's Day 2012, part one!
The majority of the afternoon was spent playing with my nieces and nephew. Loved taking pictures of these guys while they hammed it up. So fun :)
Abigail (the oldest) insisted on taking a picture of me...so here ya go.
We literally spent 4 hours just sitting outside and relaxing while our dinner smoked on the pit. Glorious.
My handsome man.
My father in law and my littlest niece, Callie.
Love.
My sweet mother in law working on a seriously hard hologram puzzle with Abigail.
This was before Abigail beat me in checkers. Genius child.
Chicken and beef smoking on the grill for fajitas!
My bro-in-law, Jamesy Poo Muffin Bear James, is a whiz at the grill. So yum.
Toppings bar!
My fajitas...combined with copious amounts of chips, salsa, and guac.
Pretty sure I could eat fajitas every day.
Fajitas, yogurt, apples, peanut butter, coffee, cake, done.
And SPEAKING of cake..I made this bad boy for dessert and yyeeaaahhhh. I must say...I hit it out of the park with this one. It was a peanut butter chocolate chip cake with cream cheese frosting.
THEN, we added ice cream, which put everyone into an bonfide sugar coma. I sort of loved it.
I mean, what is holiday dessert without sugar comas??? They should always go hand in hand :)
And today, we will celebrate my mom! I have so much love, respect, and admiration for this lady. Incredible. I love you so much!
Happy Mother's Day to all of the moms and mom's to be out there! You are so loved!
