I Don't Wanna Be...

 Gluten Free. I don't.

I want bread. I want wheat. I want Great Harvest. I want bread baskets. I want normal.

But lately, gluten does not want me. At least, I think it doesn't.

My sister eats mostly gluten free, and after 20 years of feeling like crap after eating gluten, she is feel pretty good these days being all wheat-less. I've teased her with bread baskets, cookies, and wheat-laden things since she made the switch, but it's looking like the joke is on me.

I've had these weird "middle of the stomach" stomach aches lately, so I've been experimenting by deducting certain foods from my diet to see what the culprit could be...and I think it is bread.

I SO do not want it to be bread and I may still just deal with it if it is, but I think I may be headed down the path to gluten freedom, like 80% of the high-maintenance world is these days.

Say it ain't so!

I munched on a GLUTEN-FREE LaraBar mini on the way to the gym this morning, Cherry Pie flavor. This tasted like vomit. Don't buy this flavor. Buy any other flavor flave.

Breakfast was a big bowl of GLUTEN FREE pumpkin oats topped with Wild Squirrel Sneaky Cinnamon, Pumpkin Butter, and Biscoff (not gluten free, but NOT giving up).

Lunch was GLUTEN FULL Great Harvest toast topped with apple butter, Greek yogurt, and apple slices on the side.
I also had an afternoon cuppa joe.

After arriving home, I promptly got to work on this GLUTEN FREE dinner bowl: Ground turkey breast, red pepper, green pepper, onions, garlic, mixed veggies, black beans, and jalapenos sauteed and seasoned with 1 packet of taco seasoning. Roasted sweet and new potatoes were thrown in the bowl, as well.

I was clearly in a "let's dump everything in my fridge into this dinner tonight" mood.

I don't even know what to call this. I DO know that it was colorful and delicious, my favorite combo!

The Colorful Delicious Combo Bowl!

My stomach started hurting again about an hour after lunch today, right in the middle of my abdomen...right after my bread. I'm sincerely hoping that my stomach is just in a funk and that it is in no way related to gluten. Tomorrow, I'm going 100% gluten free for the day (the horror), so we shall see!

Do you eat gluten free? What types of symptoms made you go to the dark gluten free side?

Now time to research yummy SUPER BOWL eats! And YAY for tomorrow being Friday!!! I am ready for the weekend!
