A Fabulous July 4th

My mom is an AMAZING hostess and decided to host a lovely July 4th celebration at her house!

A delicious spread of the perfect summer foods awaited us upon arriving.

The guests included yours truly, the hubs, my sister and her hubs, her hubs parents, and our pup Nova.

My sister, Hannah, and her husband, Alex, were the cute matchy-matchy newlyweds of the afternoon, so I had to document :)

Alex was the dog whisperer and was somehow able to calm our hyperactive Nova and my mom's ever-so-curious puppy Lucy.

My sister is master mixologist of all things mixable and showed up with these insanely delicious blue cheese burgers.

Yeah, I think we'll keep her :)

And you would have thought that Nova's bone tasted like those burgers by how diligent Lucy was in trying to snatch it from him.

So close, Luce, so close.

The hostess with the mostest, my momma!

And then there is me...looking like a 13 year old boy with my plate of kabobs.

Mental note: fix awkward cowlick before taking pictures with lovely kabobs.

I was way excited about those veggies.

And then there was this fruit crumble that I decided to whip up at the last minute.

My mom had vanilla ice cream to be topped with fresh strawberries and blueberries in mind for our July 4th dessert, which is always delicious, but I was in a crumble baking mood and she had all of the necessary ingredients on hand.

So she gave me the go-ahead to bake her delicious fresh fruit into a crumble :)

Mmmmm, grilled burgers and watermelon.

The perfect summer meal.

And a massive portion of warm fruit crumble with vanilla ice cream.

Good food, great family, and still being full at 9:00 PM after eating lunch at 3:00 PM.

Perfect :)

Mom, the hubs, and I then watched Tangled while eating popcorn until about 11:00 PM. It was actually really good for an animated movie! I definitely recommend it if you're in a no-brainer movie mood.

Great way to end a wonderful July 4th and SO thankful for each and every person who make our freedom possible!

How was YOUR July 4th??? Tell me, tell me!!
